We feel very privileged to have been chosen by RoSPA to deliver their iconic and accredited chauffeur courses. RoSPA have always been one of the world leaders in advanced driver training, so their standards, coupled with our extensive industry experience means ADS is able to deliver the highest quality courses to those seeking a career behind the wheel as a professional chauffeur.
Some of you reading this may simply be browsing at this point, perhaps undecided about what training is right for you and if you’ll be spending your hard earned money wisely. We appreciate that however important quality training is, it will mean significant financial outlay and you’ll want to know whether it meets your need, how will it enhance your skill set, and exactly what you’re going to get out of it.
With that in mind, let’s start by telling you who we are and what we’ve done.
ADS are a chauffeur and specialist security company, as well as a training provider. We’ve been in business for over twenty years as ADS and prior to setting up the business, Andy worked as chauffeur and security team leader within a private household for a high profile family.
During those twenty-odd years, our international clientele has ranged from senior executives to legendary singers, within industries as diverse as defence and music, so we really are in a position to pass on an eclectic mix of real world chauffeur experience at the highest level.
Chauffeuring is of course first and foremost a practical vocational subject, one that isn’t really suited to a ‘tick box’ style of instruction. There are some necessary classroom-based elements within our courses but we firmly believe that a ‘hands on’ approach to training is far more beneficial, as is a friendly and informal style of instruction, where appropriate of course.
For the vast majority of the time you’ll be out on the road gaining and honing new skills behind the wheel or learning the fundamentals of chauffeuring etiquette and the like first hand, using chauffeur-standard vehicles. We want attendees to leave our courses having undertaken the right training, taught by the right people, using the right vehicles.
Is an ex-Military Police NCO and since leaving the forces in the mid-90’s, he’s spent over 25 years working as a chauffeur and close protection operative. Early in his civilian career he was chauffeur and security team leader for a high-profile family, before forming his own company, (ADS), to supply high quality chauffeur and protection services.
Over twenty years later, Andy is still a busy chauffeur and CPO who continues to be employed by an eclectic client base including senior business figures, international HNWI’s and legends of the entertainment world. He is a certified protection driver and has attained RoSPA gold.
Andy has written for a number of chauffeur and security publications, worked with major luxury vehicle brands, is a founder member of the Guild of Professional Chauffeurs and was responsible for creating the popular industry social media forum, the Chauffeur Network UK.
In his spare time Andy rides scooters, dances badly to ska music when no ones looking and buys more pairs of Adidas trainers than he should.
spent 25 years in the British Army, 10 years of which were on close protection duties worldwide, including active tours in Iraq and Bosnia. Since becoming a civilian, Dave has worked as a CP driver in hostile environments, regularly run defensive driving courses for major oil companies in the Middle East, and taught security driving to embassy and NGO staff internationally.
His specialisation is instructing B6 armoured and tactical driving for a number of organisations, which has included the United Nations. Dave is still very much operational, spending significant periods driver training in the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe. He spent 20 years as a RoSPA instructor and 10 as a RoSPA examiner.
In what spare time he has, Dave walks over lots of hills, frequents the bars of Prague drinking strangely named lagers and gets photobombed by passing camels.
Some would argue Amanda does the real work because she’s the person responsible for all things admin at ADS! Amanda will likely be first point of contact when you enquire about, or indeed book a place on one of our courses.
In all seriousness, Amanda has worked behind the scenes in the chauffeur industry for many years, so she’s an excellent source of information for those attending our courses who might have a desire to start their own business and hear about the challenges that is likely to present.
When not at her desk at ADS Towers, Amanda takes care of three rescue dogs, taste tests Pinot Gringo and attempts to stop Andy buying more pairs of Adidas trainers than he should.
