FAQ's

  1. What does accreditation mean?
  2. It basically means that the course consent has gone through a quality control process to be given a particular level. This level is based on a number of factors including amount of learning hours, quality of content and method of learner assessment. One of the advantages of accreditation is that you have evidence of learning to present to relevant parties such as potential employers.

  3. Where is the course held?
  4. We base ourselves at a 4* hotel in Melksham, Wiltshire, although a great deal of time is spent out on the road as you’d expect. We can run courses at other locations upon request if there are appropriate facilities.

  5. Is accommodation provided?
  6. No, it is up to attendees to find accommodation at their own cost but we will happily assist in finding suitable location to suit a range of budgets. A light lunch is provided but an evening meal is the responsibility of the attendee.

  7. How much is the course?
  8. Please contact us for the cost.

  9. Does everyone pass?
  10. No. Being an accredited course means that attendees have to meet a series of learning outcomes throughout the course and it is possible that not everyone will be successful. We have a lot to fit into the 7 days and it is challenging, although we will do everything we can to make sure people are successful, although there are no guarantees. Not everyone has the necessary attributes to be a professional chauffeur but we’ll do all we can to help!

  11. What happens if I’m unsuccessful on the advanced driving test?
  12. Due to the standard of driving required to participate in the protective driving phase of the course, we ask that all candidates gain a silver or gold RoSPA pass on their advanced test. If you do not reach the required standard on the test and you are successful on all other phases, we will arrange a retake at our cost.

  13. Do you supply the vehicles?
  14. Yes we do, industry-standard E and S Mercedes.

  15. Is the whole course accredited?
  16. Most certainly. The RoSPA level 3 award covers the course as a whole, not just the advanced driving phase.

  17. How many are on the course?
  18. A maximum of 6 to ensure the highest quality of instruction and plenty of time behind the wheel. There are two instructors plus guest speakers and trainers on occasion.

  19. What do I get at the end?
  20. If successful you’ll receive certification confirming your RoSPA level 3 Award in Chauffeur Skills & Protective Driving. You’ll also get full membership to RoSPA. You’ll also get a great deal of self satisfaction knowing you’ve proven yourself over a very demanding 7 days!
